Demographic and clinical characteristics of patients with nonspecific esophageal motility disorder

Aim: Although nonspecific esophageal motility disorder(NEMD) is the most common diagnosis in manometry, unlike other primary disorders, it least known and studied disorder literature. Studies with a small number of patient groups have been reported The aim this study to share demographic clinical characteristics single center high-volume NEMD patients we followed up. 
 Material Method: was carried out retrospectively by examining records 391 diagnosed laboratory gastroenterology clinic our hospital. 20-year between 1991 2019 were reviewed. Results: mean age 49.08±14.4 (18-90). 213 (54.5%) them female, 178 (45.5%) male. symptom reflux 56.8% (222/391) patients, dysphagia 43.2% (169/391). While there no esophagitis 78.2% who had endoscopy, found 21.8% them. Pathological detected 73.5% whose 24-hour pH measured. In repeated manometry results due increased complaints their follow-up initial findings compatible NEMD, 18 achalasia, 5 nutcracker esophagus, 4 diffuse spasm (DES). Conclusion: majority are associated reflux. Patients do not endoscopic radiological organic disorders should be re-evaluated further examinations if persist.
